Bao, a national team member, finished first in the men's 21km race, ahead of K' Thanh of Lam Dong and Japanese Trent Harlow.
In the women's race, Khanh Hoa's Nguyen Thi My Chi came first, beating off competition from Nguyen Thi Ngoc Yen of Ha Noi and teammate Nguyen Thi Xuan Doi, who came in second and third respectively.
The hosts also dominated in the 10km and 5km events yesterday.
Le Canh Minh and Nguyen Thi My Thoa won the men's and women's 10km, while Pham Ngoc Hoang and Nguyen Thi Bich Tran took the men's and women's 5km.
Viet Nam's U-21 draw first blood
Viet Nam's football team crushed Myanmar 5-1 in the opening game of the International U-21 Football tournament at HCM City's Thong Nhat Stadium on Saturday.
In the earlier match, Singapore drew 1-1 with Malaysia.
The annual event has drawn teams from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and two hosts teams, the U-19s and U-21s, in a round-robin format.
Viet Nam's U-19 team meet Singapore today, while Thailand will play Myanmar.
Nhat excels on Asian Tour
Golfer Tran Le Duy Nhat finished second in the Asian Tour's SPGA President's Cup in Singapore after scoring 208 (70-70-68), just four strokes behind the winner Mardan Mamat on Saturday.
Nhat, one of five professional Vietnamese players, ranks 27th in the tour rankings.
Last month, he won the Mercedes-Benz Masters in Viet Nam.
Children's basketball tourney starts
The Children Basketball Tournament for Primary School Pupils – the Milo Cup – is underway and will run until Sunday.
The tournament, sponsored by Nestle Viet Nam, is being organised by Viet Nam Basketball Federation and the Nhi Dong (Children) newspaper.
The contest has attracted 64 teams for both genders, 16 more than last year. — VNS
